Only with the help of your support is the Catalina Film Festival, and all of its year-round initiatives, an outstanding success! Filmmakers from around the world converge on the United States’ ONLY West Coast resort island to enjoy independent film & industry panels all while basking under the sunny skies of California’s sub-tropical island… But whether they’re here for our annual festival, or for one of our multiple programs throughout the year, they’re also helping some amazing causes and initiatives the same time they’re doing it.

Catalina Film Festival is a non-profit organization founded on principles that were designed to give back. We are working closely with the Catalina Chamber of Commerce to help the economic stability of the island while also benefiting the Catalina Island Conservancy and its many efforts to protect the island, its plant, animal and marine life. The Catalina Island Fox, which faced extinction only a few years ago, is actually accredited as the fastest recovery of any endangered species on the planet. Even organizations like the Tasmanian Devil Foundation and Save the Tiger Foundation model their efforts after the Conservancy’s Island Fox program.

Your gift to CFF will not only help filmmakers realize their dreams in becoming influential artists within entertainment, but it will also give back to programs that will grant scholarships to educate them in workshops, mentorships, hand-on training, and even aid for productions that can stay in Los Angeles County and be shot on Catalina Island. But your support doesn’t stop there, it continues on to help the overall health of Catalina’s economy. Being a resort city off the California coast; it’s not hard to figure out that more than 50% of the year is economically very slow for the island. CFF has a bunch of initiatives to keep the island vibrant all year long with programs like our monthly Pay-What-You-Can movie screenings, presented by our Catalina Film Society, industry events, workshops and discussion panels all helping to increase traffic to the island during the 0ff-season months. But the most honorable initiative your donation goes to support is in helping our beneficiary, the Catalina Island Conservancy, and their mission to be a responsible steward of our lands through a balance of conservation, education and recreation. Through your generosity, we grow and sustain an active and engaged mission to help the artistic, cultural, local economic, and environmental communities, all-in-one, on Catalina and around the world.
